Questions you may want to ask, include:

  • Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?
  • Do I have a co-pay that I will need to pay for mental health services?
  • Do I have a deductible that applies to mental health services? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?
  • Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
  • Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for mental health services to be covered?
  • Does my plan cover telehealth?

Common Questions

We recognize that healing and lasting change can only occur when clients are committed to actively working towards treatment goals. Commitment looks like motivation to create positive change, attending therapy sessions regularly, and open and honest communication with your therapist. We believe that therapy is collaborative, and hope that our clients will give us feedback regarding what may or may not be working throughout the therapeutic process. We ask that clients give us a minimum of 24 hours advance notice when needing to cancel, and we will make every effort to reschedule if possible. If clients cancel their therapy session without giving 24 hours notice, they may be subject to a $30 cancellation fee- your therapist will review this policy in further detail during your first session. All clients are expected to arrive on time and sober for their appointments.

Your first session will be an intake appointment and will be structured differently than a typical therapy session. During an intake appointment forms will be reviewed, you will be asked about your history, why you are seeking services at this time, and goals that you have for treatment. Based on this information, we will begin to create a treatment plan and discuss strategies for meeting therapeutic goals. This will also be an opportunity for you to meet your therapist and ask any questions that you may have. Due to the amount of information that is reviewed and gathered during an intake, it’s common for an intake session to last a little longer than a standard 53 minute therapy session- please anticipate your intake to last between 60 and 90 minutes. Please be sure to bring your driver’s license and insurance card to your appointment.

Yes. Telehealth sessions are available via a HIPAA compliant telehealth platform, talk to your therapist for more information. Please note that while most insurance companies cover telehealth sessions, some do not- please contact your insurance company to verify that they cover this service.

Additional free parking is available in front of the building on Monte Vista and on side streets such as Wellesley.
